When you use Skinularity, we may collect the following information:

  • Account information: email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Skin profile data: skin type, age, birth date, gender, ethnicity/Fitzpatrick phototype, location, climate zone, skin concerns, allergies, and free-text concerns you provide through the questionnaire.
  • Usage data: routines generated, tweaks requested, products analyzed, and ingredients viewed.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Generate personalized skincare ingredient recommendations.
  • Analyze products against your skin profile.
  • Save and display your routines and history.
  • Improve the accuracy and quality of our AI recommendations.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).
  • Monitor and prevent abuse of the Service.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure) with row-level security policies. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Supabase: database hosting and authentication.
  • OpenAI: AI-powered routine generation (your skin profile data is sent to generate recommendations).
  • Vercel: website hosting and deployment.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery.
  • Google Analytics: anonymous usage analytics.
  • Amazon Associates: affiliate product links (no personal data is shared with Amazon through our links).

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use localStorage to save your theme preference (light/dark mode). Google Analytics may set additional cookies for usage tracking.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your skin profile data with advertisers or data brokers. Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to provide the Service.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export your skin profile and routine data.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time by deleting your account.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data and skin profiles for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

9. Children's Privacy

Skinularity is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
