A mineral UV filter that provides broad-spectrum protection by reflecting and scattering UV rays. One of two FDA-approved mineral sunscreen actives.
Broad-spectrum UV protection (primarily UVB and short UVA), physical sunblock, gentle on sensitive skin, reef-safe.
Apply generously as part of sunscreen. Reapply every 2 hours. Works immediately upon application (no wait time).
FDA Category I (safe and effective). Provides primarily UVB protection. Non-nano form considered reef-safe. No evidence of systemic absorption through intact skin.
Cautions
Can leave a white cast, especially on darker skin tones. Nano-sized particles reduce white cast but raise some inhalation concerns in spray formulations.
